SnapLogic Cloud Pattern Catalog

The SnapLogic Cloud Pattern Catalog is a searchable collection of pre-built, reusable Pattern Pipelines that you can import and configure through a step-by-step wizard.

Overview

Pattern Pipelines are pre-built and reusable integration pipelines. When you import a Pattern Pipeline, a wizard guides you through configuration. In most cases, you provide account credentials for the specified platforms and identify the data sources or files to use in the process.

By default, SnapLogic enables the Pattern Catalog, which appears in the Patterns tab of the Asset Palette in Designer.

If you do not see the Pattern Catalog, click the menu next to your profile and select User Settings. Enable the SnapLogic Cloud Pattern Catalog checkbox and, optionally, the Asset Palette checkbox.

As an Org admin, you can enable or disable the Cloud Pattern Catalog for all users in your Org from Manager > Settings > Cloud Pattern Catalog.

Accessing Pattern Pipelines

You can access specific patterns through hot links, which let you quickly find and open a pattern with a single click. Hot links are easily identifiable and ensure reliable redirection to the correct pattern page.

Searching for Pattern Pipelines

The SnapLogic Cloud Pattern Catalog lets you search, preview, and import Pattern Pipelines. You can also copy Snaps from an imported pipeline into an existing pipeline. When you enter a keyword in the search box, Iris Integration Assistant retrieves matching Pattern Pipelines from the Cloud Catalog and your Org, grouped by project.

Note:
  • You must enter a search term to see results. Browsing without a search term yields no results.
  • If you have enabled the Asset Palette, press Enter after typing the search term.
  • If you do not have access to a matching Pattern Pipeline, the catalog does not display it in the search results.

To search for a Pattern Pipeline:

  1. In Designer, click the Patterns tab or the Patterns button in the Asset Palette. The Pattern Catalog opens.
  2. Enter a keyword in the search box. If the Asset Palette is enabled, press Enter. Iris lists matching Pattern Pipelines found in the Cloud Pattern Catalog and within each project in your Org.
  3. Expand each project to view its Pattern Pipelines:
    • Show Matches Only: Displays only pipelines that match the search term.
    • Show All: Displays all Pattern Pipelines in the project that relate to the search term.
  4. Mouse over a Pattern Pipeline to preview it on the canvas.
Note: Previews are available only for Pattern Pipelines in the SnapLogic Cloud Pattern Catalog, not for regular Pattern Pipelines.
  5. Click the Pattern Pipeline to import it.

Permissions

Note: Permission levels do not apply to Org Admins.

Pattern projects follow the same five access levels as other SnapLogic projects:

To assign permissions to groups or individual users:

  1. In Manager, navigate to the pattern project, open the Project Options menu, and click Permissions. The Permissions dialog opens.
  2. In the Add field, enter the group name or the user's email address, and select the permission level to assign.
  3. Click Share & Save. The user or group appears in the access list.
  4. Click Done.

Adding Pipelines to a Pattern Project

You can add pipelines to your pattern projects or to any project where you have Full Access permission. You can add pipelines by importing an existing pipeline or by creating a new one.

To import a pipeline into a pattern project:

Note: Before importing, the pipeline must be exported as a .slp file.
  1. In Designer, click Import at the top left of the canvas.
  2. Select the pipeline file to import and click Open. The Add New Pipeline dialog opens.
  3. Enter a label for the pipeline in the Label field.
  4. Select the pattern project path in the Project field.
  5. Click Save.

To create a new pipeline in a pattern project:

  1. In Designer, click + at the top left of the canvas to open the Add New Pipeline dialog.
  2. Enter a name for the pipeline in the Label field.
  3. Select the pattern project in the Projects field.
  4. Click Save. The pipeline is now part of the pattern project, and you can build and configure it as required.

Viewing and Editing Pattern Pipelines

If you click a Pattern Pipeline to which you have only Read access, SnapLogic displays the New Pipeline dialog, which lets you import the pipeline into your project.

Moving Existing Pipelines to a Pattern Project

  1. Open the pipeline to move.
  2. In the Designer toolbar, click Move Pipeline. The Choose Destination Project for Move dialog opens.
  3. Enter the pattern project name in the Destination field to filter the list of projects.
  4. Select the target pattern project and click Move. The pipeline is moved to the project and appears in the Patterns Catalog.
