Work with pipelines

Pipelines are a core feature of the SnapLogic Platform. They enable you to automate data flows between databases, applications, and file-based storage systems.

Pipeline types

  • Standard Pipeline : (Default)—Build, connect, and automate: Using a drag-and-drop interface in Designer, you can connect pre-built Snaps to move, transform, and route data between systems. Use this option to create a general-purpose integration, ETL workflow, or automation process. Learn more.
  • Resumable Pipeline—Keep processing even through interruptions: A Resumable Pipeline automatically suspends execution when a target endpoint becomes unavailable and picks up exactly where it left off once connectivity is restored without reprocessing or manual reruns. Ideal for application integrations where reliability and data continuity are critical. Learn more.
  • Tool Pipeline—Define a capability for your AI agents: A Tool Pipeline exposes a discrete action — such as querying a database, calling an API, or transforming data — that can be invoked by an Agent pipeline or an MCP Server. Learn more.
  • MCP Server Pipeline—Orchestrate tools for AI: An MCP Server Pipeline serves as a central hub that exposes one or more tools — such as SnapLogic pipelines, OpenAPI specs, or APIM services — to AI agents via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Learn more.
  • Cache Pipeline—Pre-compute data for fast, repeated lookups: A Cache Pipeline runs once to generate a dataset that your main pipeline can reference at runtime — eliminating redundant calls to databases, APIs, or other systems. Learn more.
