Snaplex and Snap Pack compatibility

Environment admins control the timing of Snaplex and Snap Pack upgrades:

  • Snaplexes: The current general availability (GA) version has a (Recommended) label. You can upgrade versions in Classic Manager for individual Snaplexes by editing them and selecting a different version. To upgrade all Snaplexes in the environment automatically at release time, in Classic Manager Settings, select Auto Upgrade Snaplex.
  • Snap Packs: Snap Packs have Stable and Latest versions. You can change the version for an individual Snap Pack or update all Snap Packs in the environment to the Stable or Latest version. In Classic Manager and Admin Manager, when you view the Snap Packs, you can select New and Old distributions:
    • The New distribution can run on the GA Snaplex.
    • The Old distribution on older Snaplexes.

Snaplex and Snap Pack dependencies

Snaplex and Snap Pack versions are interdependent. An older Snaplex can only run the older Snap Pack distributions. The GA Snaplex can run both Stable or Latest versions. New Snap Packs require an updated Control Plane and the GA Snaplex.

Assuming a quarterly release update of the Control plane, the following table shows the supported combinations of Snaplexes and Snap Packs:

Control plane Snaplex Snap Packs Supported
Updated Older Old Yes. Both the Stable and Latest versions of older Snap Packs can run on an older Snaplex. Additionally, it supports Snap Pack overrides.
New No. New Snap Packs require the current GA Snaplex.
GA (recommended) Old No. Old Snap Packs don't run on a new Snaplex. If you encounter issues with a new Snap Pack, consult SnapLogic Support before overriding with an older version.
New Yes. Both the Stable and Latest versions of older Snap Packs can run on the current GA Snaplex. Additionally, it supports Snap Pack overrides.
