Get started with administration of the SnapLogic environment
To help you get started as a new Environment admin, this topic introduces important concepts such as Security, Snaplexes, the runtime engines that process integrations, and the tools that support CI/CD.
As an Environment admin, you are responsible for configuration. The specific settings required depends on whether the environment is new, is for development and testing or for production, and whether integrations run on Cloudplexes or Groundplexes.
Admin Manager exposes most environment-wide settings. Classic Manager provides navigation and configuration of the projects that contain SnapLogic integration assets.
Environment configuration
In an existing environment, familiarize yourself with configuration settings. In a new environment, configure the following to get the environment ready:
- Users, groups, and roles
- Security:
- CI/CD features such as the Git Integration and Secrets Management.
- Snaplexes. Cloudplexes require minimal configuration. Groundplexes require setup in Admin Manager and installation on your network.
- Subscription features such as AutoSync and API Management.
Project settings control the visibility and access of non-admin users to assets such as pipelines, tasks, and accounts. To build and test integrations, pipeline developers will need the credentials and configuration necessary to access endpoints, often sandbox accounts. Production environments require access to production endpoints.
