Interaction with Enhanced Account Encryption

How to configure Enhanced Account Encryption to work with AutoSync

Snaplexes are the data processing engines that execute AutoSync data pipelines. AutoSync supports connecting to endpoints with an AutoSync Snaplex or with a Groundplex (self-managed Snaplex). Environments enabled for AutoSync that don't use Enhanced Account Encryption (EAE) have a dedicated AutoSync Snaplex, a Cloudplex managed by SnapLogic. Environments with EAE must use a Groundplex to run AutoSync data pipelines.

The EAE feature requires both a subscription and configuration. First, a CSM adds EAE to a subscribed environment. An Enviroment admin must then configure Groundplexes and enable EAE. When a CSM adds a subscription to AutoSync to an environment:

  • In environments not configured for EAE, an Autosync Snaplex (Cloudplex) is automatically provisioned.
  • In environments configured to use EAE, no Snaplex is provisioned because the data pipelines run on a Groundplex.

The steps required to use EAE with AutoSync depend on the timing of feature enablement and configuration:

  • If EAE is enabled and configured (not just subscribed) before AutoSync, no action is required. No AutoSync Snaplex is provisioned. Data pipeline designers simply select the appropriate Groundplex.
  • If AutoSync is enabled before EAE is configured or if the features are subscribed at the same time, an AutoSync Snaplex will be provisioned. The AutoSync Snaplex must be removed for EAE to work properly. Follow these steps:
    1. Complete the EAE configuration by preparing the nodes and enabling EAE in Admin Manager.
    2. Request removal of the AutoSync Snaplex.
    3. Update any existing data pipelines to run on the appropriate Groundplex.
